Dear Babies, I too have a dream....

A few days ago, we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr day. Everyone came together to honor a man who spoke of peace and light.  Social media posts were filled with love and admiration for an American leader who had a dream. Just days later, we are millions of miles from that place of peace and love.

Today, feelings of hate, anger and fear are everywhere. My social media feeds are literally making me sick to my stomach as I watch friends and family becoming entangled in word wars with each other.  The news is filled with stories of violence and hate.   Today is the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump. It is a day that will no doubt go down in history. It is a day the United States became a nation divided. I'm heartsick by what I see happening in the world. Today, I sat down and wrote a letter to my beautiful little humans, because writing is what I do, amidst the chaos, to quiet the noise.

Dear Babies,
I too have a dream. I have millions of them. Most of them have to do with your future and your happiness. My dream today is right along those lines.
Today I dream that American can come together and peacefully welcome our new leader. I dream that we can stop blaming and fighting with each other.  Whether we love Donald Trump, dislike him, or are somewhere in the middle, I hope we remember how lucky we are to live in America. We are Americans. We are free. We don't have to like the person elected to be the President, but we to need to remember  that he is OUR President, and that position deserves our respect.
I believe in America. I love America. Now, lets put smiles on our faces and pray for our new President. I hope he does amazing things over the next four years.
Happy Inauguration Day Babies.

Stepping Away

2016 was an amazing year for this little business of mine. I was busier then I ever thought possible I had the opportunity to travel and photograph so many beautiful humans, but I missed my own tribe something fierce during all those business trips and weekends I spent photographing weddings. After a lot of soul searching, I have decided to step away from Lou la Belle Photography to spend more time with my beautiful babies and their daddy. I will continue to post personal photos from our lives on this blog, but will no longer be accepting new clients. Thanks for all your love and support.
